Daniel Kulzer, MSW
Dan Kulzer received his B.A. in Psychology in ’05 (minored in Criminal Justice) from SUNY at Albany and continued at SUNY to obtain a Masters in Social Work.
During his undergrad years, Dan worked at Greene Correctional Facility in Coxsackie, NY and Shaker Junior High School in Colonie, NY. At Greene, Dan worked as a Psychologist’s assistant, facilitating the development and implementation of Self-Discovery Workshops and Group Therapy Sessions for a wide range of male inmates(yet primarily youthful offenders). At Shaker, Dan provided tutoring and social skill development for BOCES students ranging from 11-14 yrs of age.
During his graduate program, Dan completed field work at Conifer Park inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Center in Glenville, NY and Samaritan Counseling Center. At Conifer, Dan provided case management and led individual and group therapy sessions for patients struggling with substance abuse. At Samaritan, Dan provided therapy for individuals, couples, and families and continues to do so in his current role as a resident therapist.
Dan currently practices at the Scotia and Loudonville offices and provides family therapy in local schools as a member of Samaritan’s Project PASS, a therapeutic program for children at risk for academic failure/ school drop-out.
Dan’s areas of interest, specialization, and continuing education / professional development include: developmental change across the life cycle, adolescent-family relations, family systems therapies, and mind-body-spirit interaction and resulting implications for healthy functioning.
