Emily Frederick, MA
Emily Frederick received her B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Albany and her M.A. in Counseling and Community Psychology from Sage Graduate School. She interned at Samaritan Counseling Center where she continues to develop her career as a psychotherapist. In addition, she has been involved in conducting needs assessments and research with the Rensselaer County Jail, Rensselaer county social services, and the Wilkinson's adult medical day program.
Emily began her career in mental health in 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital working with adults in various capacities in the community. Her experience includes 7 years of crisis intervention work, social and recreation therapy, and 4 years of intensive case management. Emily continues to work for St. Mary's Hospital's mental health adult clinic as an Intensive Case Manager for adults and a member of the crisis intervention team.
As a psychotherapy resident, Emily continues to work with individuals, families, and couples with particular interest in family and couple dynamics. In addition she continues to explore areas of interest including spiritually integrated psychotherapy, coping with grief and loss, substance abuse concerns and marital and relational dynamics.
Emily is an active member of New York Mental Health Counselor's Association.
